Last night was another typical week night where I spend most of my time sitting on my bed, staring at my laptop. I decided to take a shower, so I could get 20 minutes of extra sleep the next morning. After all this time, I'm still a slacker who somehow gets her work done.

As I was walking out the door, I took a glance at a shelf near the doorway. I saw three of my old sketchbooks and decided to take a look at each. I haven't looked at them in years. I was surprised to see that I had actually filled in most of the pages of the first two. It was quite amusing looking at the pencil drawings, since I don't really draw these days - maybe one finished in the past six months or something. As I turned page after page, I realized that I pretty much acquired the basic drawing skills when I was only 13. I found myself whispering, "Oh this is pretty good" and "Wow, this isn't bad."

I think I found some sort of inspiration by looking at my old artwork. Wasting such a talent and a capability to learn more has always bothered me. Nothing will change the fact that drawing is not one of my top priorities, but I'm trying to find a way to get back to it a little. I bought a new tablet the day after last Christmas, which I only got to use once (same day I bought it). I still enjoy sketching on my notes and handouts. Maybe I can find some way to fit drawing back into my life.

To me, sharing comes after drawing. When a person holds a talent such as this, he or she should share it. Letting others see your work can help you learn more, or gain more inspiration to keep working. You can also let others learn. Naturally, when I think of sharing art, I think of deviantart.com. I couldn't remember what my username was, so I had to search one of my old artwork to even find it. So now, here I am again. When I find the time, I'll try to post drawings from my old sketchbooks from when I was 13 or 14. Till then, best wishes to the few who may be reading, if any.
